African American vsgers!

  • Popular Post

Hey guys I saw a thread from 2011 that I wanted to continue. I love all of my vsgers but as we know african american women tend to carry weight differently. I would love to follow you ladies on your journey and for us all to support each other.

I was sleeved on September 5th so I'm a week out. I'm doing good so far and feeling better everyday. I stayed at the hospital 3 days mostly because they discovered my allergy to morphine while I was on the pump with a fever and my entire body on fire. But I'm home now and much better. I was just moved to the full liquids stage so I'm pretty happy considering that the liquids stage made me nauseous. I've lost 24 lbs since my surgery so any pain I have is over shadowed by my joy.

Looking forward to hearing from you ladies and seeing some progress pics!

I have been prescribed pantoprazole, ursodiol (actigall), and hydrocodone.

That's awesome! Are you excited?

Yes very excited, but also nervous. I love reading everyone's posts they really help ease the nerves...somewhat.

I start my pre op diet tomorrow and I'm very nervous any tips

I only had a 1 day diet. Gatorade, jello, water. That's all I have had today...oh and my 3 tablespoons of milk of magnesia (yuck!!!)

@onthewrighttrack @@Idonerds I had to do a 2 week preop all liquids...it sucks. I cheated at least three days of out 14 and still managed to lose 10lbs before surgery. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that u can have chicken broth etc.

I can have sugar free jello, ice pops(30 calories a day of those), broth, and 2cups of vegetables a day.

@@Idonerds I was allowed everything but the vegetables so lucky you lol. The first week was 2 protein shakes and a light meal. The week before surgery it was all three meals was supposed to me shakes... Of course I cheated. When is your surgery date?

Oh that it all I had so far today on my clear liquid diet. My friend is making the chicken broth. I'm having the broth my son is having tacos. I went on my own diet a week before. I lost about seven pounds. Don't know for sure because my scale is broken. It says I weigh 150.2...lol. Anyways I just needed to make sure my weight was around the same when I visited the surgeon in early October. I'm sure I made it.

Good luck@@Idonerds I know you can do it.

Good luck to you as well

You ladies will do great. :)
