Exercising Again?

I'm almost 5 weeks post op and although I was very active before surgery, I'm nervous about returning to a regular exercise regime. Does anyone have any advice on things they did differently or things to avoid? I love softball and dance, and want to incorporate some light weight lifting with my trainer.

Go slow.

I played an indoor soccer game 8 weeks to the date post op. I got through it, but looking back it was very stupid. I could not get enough water to feel hydrated.

I currently play soccer 3-4 nights a week and I am training for a triathlon. You can do anything you set your mind to!!

I would check with my doctor, I started off just walking and then I got the approval to participate in aquaqerobics. Good luck my friend and congrats on your choice in being healthy.

Best to check with your surgeon. I just went for my two week check up and I can start regular excercixe. He did tell me if it hurts, don't do it. You may have to just try and take it easy at first. I'm just walking and going to start low impact aerobics tomorrow. Gonna take it slow.
