I was Sooooooooo close to getting rescheduled.

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled and all set for Gastric Bypass Surgery on Sept. 8th (Monday) and I get a call today at 4:50p from my surgeons office saying that I have not been approved by my insurance company.

Apparently my surgeons office asks for prior approval for a hernia repair just incase you have one. My insurance didn't like that part at all and wanted to go back and forth about it.

So I was told that I would have to wait until Monday morning (I'm supposed to be at the hospital at 12p) and they will call me and let me know if my surgery is happening as scheduled or if we have to reschedule. TALK ABOUT TORTURE!!!!!! I was freaking out.

10 minutes later.... I got a call from my Ins. Co. saying that my surgery is approved!!!!!!

She said she didn't want me to have to wait over the weekend not knowing.

I'm so freaken thankful!!!!!

Now for the nerves....

I am so glad the weight(wait) is over. And sorry you had to go on that merry-go-round but, at least someone cared enough to call you instead of making you wait on pins and needles all weekend. Good luck and speedy recovery.

I was thinking that too msspiceybaby-- That ins companies get a bad rep, but whomever called you was kind of going above and beyond :) It might be worth it to try to tell the person's supervisor that they did a good job (I always think good people should be made known to their superiors)... but maybe after your surgery hahahahahaha you want to fly under the radar until then!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
