Thinking of new life

Recommended Posts

Yesterday me and hubbie took kids for a ferry ride to an island where there were parks etc. we had about a mike walk to the ferry from our apartment in Brooklyn. I could barely make it and my foot with plantar fasciatis was killing me by the time we got to the ferry. It was hit and I really had a hard time walking around bc of foot pain and bc of my weight. I thought to myself...this time next year I will NOT be feeling like this. Made me more excited about my journey and reminded me how much I need this surgery.

I want to enjoy life again.

You will, you will, you will!

It won't even take a year. Just wait. The first thirty pounds gone and I could sleep again. Just THAT alone changed my energy level. I started walking the day after surgery. My nurse was strict about it and boy did it make a difference. 8 weeks post op I went to Italy and WALKED everywhere. Up and down hills for two weeks. I wasn't out of breath at all.

You know all of those crazy dreams you have about what you're gonna do when the weight starts coming off? They're all going to come true!

I rode a bike.

I rode a HORSE and he wasn't the biggest one in the stable either.

I fit in a movie seat with room to spare.

I cross my arms. Love this one.

I can shave my legs sitting in a tub. I fit in a tub. I can reach my ankles.

I accidentally waited too long to try on my tight dress slacks from the back of the closet and by the time I did, they were too big. Had to donate them.

Invest in YOU. It's never too late. I was banded at 53 and this is the best year of my life. I have so much to do and I'm not waiting anymore.

Welcome and keep posting!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
