Hello,

Not sure if your surgeon gave you ideas for all liquid diet. But, I had chicken broth, sugar free Jello, popsicles and continued to drink the required Protein shakes. It was nice to mix it up a little with the liquids. Good Luck to you!!

I am in the second day of the pre-op diet. What kind of pre-op diet are you on. Many are different. Are you just having the shakes? Are you allowed 4 ounces of low fat Protein with a small amount of vegetables for dinner?

I am doing the shakes plus 4 ounces of protein at dinner.

Are you allowed unlimited sugar free popsicles, Jello, and fat free broth?

A friend gave me a hint regarding the shakes. Put in a couple tablespoons of fat free plain Greek yogurt. I tried that this morning and the shakes tasted so much better.

All in all, the pre-op diet is boring. Very boring. But we need to shrink our livers before surgery. We are doing this because we need the surgery tool to make better food choices with our minds.

I do get four ounces of protein at dinner but I was told no yogurt. I can only mix shakes with water. This is the largest test of my will power.
