How long Once the process is started?

Hi everyone! I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to let me doctor know that I do want to move forward with the weight loss surgery.

How long did the process take for you once you said yes let's move forward?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately this all depends on your specific program. This question has been asked quite a bit and some have responded that they were scheduled for surgery a week later, where others it is years.

For my program specifically, I was referred by my PCP, then a week later was approved for the program. About a month later I had an introduction meeting where they walked through the 7-9 months leading up to surgery. Luckily as I was in the midst of the program they sped things up and it really only took about 4 months until I had the surgery. Leading up to that was many group classes, appointments with different people and all of the preparation.

Mine was a much faster time frame than I expected. Went to a seminar mid July. Consultation with the surgeon July 30. Surgery is scheduled sept 3. Apparently my insurance doesn't require too many hoops to jump through. Nice but overwhelming at the same time! Good luck!!
