Endoscopy tomorrow. S/P surgery July 16.

I saw one of the surgeons in the group this past Friday and he scheduled me for endoscopy tomorrow.

I've been having many problems with my hernia repair. He thinks maybe there is a kink in the esophagus or things are too tight.

I have had chronic nausea since the surgery. I can hardly eat or drink and am not doing well.

He told me he may have to admit me and place an iv for me to be able to go home with and get fluids overnight. He said they could possibly have to go back in and redo the surgery and I may possibly need a feeding tube placed in my stomach.

None of this sounds good to me. I just hope things are too tight in there and he can loosen them up. I am hoping for the bast but knowing there can be a worst.

I have been feeling better as the days go by since my endoscopy. I go to see my surgeon this afternoon...

I too had a stricture on week 3 postop. For one week i could barely even drink anything. I dehydrated twice landing me in the ER. Always asking if was a stricture. The nausea was almost unbearable and the painid feel for hours after vommitting was so bad!! Finally they got me in to endoscopy and i had a stricture as well as an ulcer. I have to repeat the endoscopy on sept 16th and im on nexium powder i mix with water 2x a day. Ive not had anymore issues since.. and hoping after they dilate me again i will feel even better. Wishing you well with your recovery and hoping no more complications for u. Ik that it stinks going thru all that... :)

It really does. I think I had that stricture from one week out and they wouldn't do anything. Something got stuck again last night so I am sure I have to go back. They felt like I may have to go 1-2 more times. Thank you very much, and to you as well!!!
