surgery date

So I haven't even met with my surgeon yet. However I have had my packet mailed to me by his office and I've done everything on the checklist besides the 6 months of weigh in's. My appointment isn't until September 22nd and by then I will have 4 possibly 5 weigh in's done and everything else like said before done so is this normally when they set your surgery date?
