My pre sleeve EGD was done last week and I was certain it would be a routine scope with nothing to show for it. Boy was I shocked when the surgeon came to talk to me in the recovery room. He found gastric polyps, a large ulcer, and gastritis. Biopsies were taken of the polyps and other areas of my stomach and esophagus and i am still waiting for those results. He told me RNY is absolutely not an option for me because they would never leave the remnant in when it can not be easily monitored for changes. So I am definitely a sleeve patient! I also have to take a medication 4 times a day to help coat my stomach and protect it and also have to take a PPI every night to reduce the amount of acid in my stomach. He discontinued my anti inflammatory medicine that I take for my bad back. I am shocked because I never had any idea I might have an ulcer or anything else going on. The moral if the story is never think any of the pre-op process is a waste of time or money. The pre-op process is there to give us all the best chance possible to be healthy and successful!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
