Sharp Port Pain

I was banded on 4/20. I have done very well so far. My port has had some pain, but just a little – until today. I took my pilates class today and now it hurts where my port is (I can feel it with my hand, so I know this is where my port it). When I move, there is a sharp pain now. I am a bit worried. What do you think this is? Am I overreacting?

Your port is the very last thing to heal. I'm 4.5 months out and I still get port pain sometimes if I overdo on the treadmill, etc. Sometimes if I bump my port area it is sore for a few days. Had a fill a couple of weeks ago and for the first time ever my doc was feeling it (he uses fluoro so he never does that) and just him messing with it made it feel similar to a bruise.

You are still very much a newbie, I would just relax and let it take time to heal.

I am jsut over 2 months out and have only noticed this past 2 weeks...anybody else????:blah:

Thanks WASabubblebutt! I did call my Dr. and they said the same thing. He also encouraged me to do something other than Pilates right now. Because Pilates concentrates on the stomach area, he said to give myself a couple more weeks before doing that type of exercise.

Hi, i was banded 3 weeks ago and over the last few days I have developed severe port pain, like someone stabbing me. this happens every time I use my abdonimals at all, like pulling out a drawer. I am worried the port has flipped, it feels lie the stiches are ripping out every time I move. The nurse said to take nurofen and let it heal, but I am still worried
