I Would just like I know whether or not anyone gained weight during the supervised pre-op diet? Did anyone have problems with the insurance accepting their authorization for gaining weight? My brother and I both just submitted our papers to the insurance company. I lost about 20 lbs the first 3 months and the last 3 months I managed to gain it back plus about 10... My dr hasn't mentioned that being much of a problem but waiting for this authorization is making me overthink everything!!!

I have BCBS of Kansas City....the approval nurse at BCBS told me that they don't care if my weight fluctuates over the 6 months. They said they go off my highest weight in the 6 month period and as long as I meet all the other requirements I should be good to go.

I just got my acceptance today for surgery on sep 9th! My insurance told me the same thing so as long as u have 40+ bmi or 35+ with health issues than u should be accepted like I was! Good luck!!
