I have to lose this weight before surgery and I can't seem to get it off... I have my last apt before they submit to insurance on the 2nd of August and I'm so scared. I have tried everything. I recently even started a job. It's night shift cleaning. And when I come home I'm starving so I'm eating then going to sleep which isn't good at all.. Any suggestions?

Also can you use milk with your pre op shakes?

Try Atkins low carb diet. The protein helps me to not feel so hungry. Good luck.

I'm thinking about going ahead and trying the liquid diet for pre op. I have the shake mix already and I can just buy more. It'd be worth it if I can lose the weight.

I would suggest eating high protein/ low carb things right before bed. Greek yogurt usually was good at tiding me over at night. Or string cheese. These foods help me level out my blood sugars when I stay up late during the weekends.

Yes, prep shakes can usually be made with skim or 1% milk. I started using Fair life which has higher protein and calcium and lower fat than regular milk...and it is lactose free. It's so good!

I too, did a liquid "diet" preop....CLEAR liquids for 7 days. Never thought I could do basically no calories for a week. But I did, my body had plenty of reserves. I lost almost 20 pounds.....and surgery was a success!
