I paid 10,500 in South Florida as well (same surgeon as @cutiecake) Everything went incredibly smoothly, the hospital stay two days. No hoops to jump through, no psych eval, no NUT appointments to keep... I am very happy with my decision.

Mine was about $16000. However most hospitals have a charity care or assistance program that will cover some of the cost for you.

Hospitals do that, but it is income based and while I know we don't feel that this an elective surgery it is still viewed that way so I am not so sure a hospital will qualify it for charity care funds. Those funds are usually used for emergencies and on the medically underserved.
