Fiber supplement question

Hi,

I had my lap band surgery a week ago and had my one week post-surgery visit today. All is well and I've been moved on to mushy foods from all liquids, but I don't think i'm getting enough Fiber and still suffering from diarrhea and loose stool.

Forgot to ask this morning, is it a good idea to take a fiber supplement (pill or liquid)? Recommendations? Suggestions?

this is a question for your surgeons office. the nurse could answer this one. all doctor's use different things. my first guess would be Metamucil. but since I have the opposite problem I am not one to give advice on this. call your doctor but if I remember right I had loose stools right after surgery too. you are taking in a lot of liquids right now.

Wait. Now .. wouldn't the loose stool be the result of being on a LIQUID diet? I'm asking because it just kind of makes sense to me. I'm still pre-op and have finished day 3 of my liquid pre-op diet ... and have loose stool because I'm on a liquid diet.
