I am having surgery on May 2nd and since I have started this diet, I have been totally hungry and craving things I don't even really like! I am not that big of an eater, Breakfast is coffee about 5 cups lunch consisted of a couple cans of pop and chips, and dinner was any fast food rest. on the way home from work. But now that I know I can't eat I want breakfast like eggs and bacon and salad for lunch, I want to cook dinner. I know all of this is in my mind but please tell me I am not alone... did anyone else go through this?

coffee, chips, pop, and fast food are what I ate before this diet and decided to get banded! I have been on the shakes and 3oz of Protein for a week now, I am just saying I want things for breakfast and lunch now that I can't have them! I never really ate in the morning or at noon but I really want to now!!! I was just wondering if this were normal!

you know the old saying, "You don't miss your Water until the well goes dry" that is what you are experiencing...I have had cravings for food that I never liked before...it is just the fact of knowing that you can't have anything...This will pass...just keep drinking lots of Water and stay well hydrated....good luck with your surgery..I pray that all will go well for you...

I went through the same thing before my band. I was banded 4/20/07. I felt like it was the last time I was going to get to eat so I didn't follow the pre-op diet. My last meal the day before my surgery consisted of Fettucine Alfredo with garlic bread and a big coke. Nothing after midnight of course. ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
