Anxiety....

I'm having surgery in 6 more days and my anxiety is out the roof. I'm having bad dreams when I know everything is going to be great. Is this NORMAL?!?

Anxiety is normal. I vomited all the way to the hospital on the day of surgery from fear. Two weeks ago I had a second surgery - no fear because I had experienced the prior surgery. It will go well. Have you ever had any kind of surgery before or even a patient in a hospital before? Try to meditate on happy thoughts. I expressed my fears to my surgeon and the surgical staff and nurses and they all reassured me that fear is normal.

In any case, I wish you the greatest of success on your weight loss journey. 1 1/2 years ago I was in your situation. I have never regretted the decision. Of course, it is a long road to learn a new way of eating. It is work. But it is worth the effort.

Anxiety and fear are completely normal. If you weren't at lease a little nervous, then I would be a little concerned. Try not to focus on the negative. Focus only on the positives - the weight loss, getting your health back, being able to wear fashionable clothes, etc. Keep reminding yourself of the reasons you are doing this.

You'll rock this! I wish you a very speedy recovery and great success! :)

I had so much anxiety after I was scheduled two months ago. The waiting was killing me. My psychiatrist doubled my Valium. It helped. I now have 6 days left and all is well. I'm not nervous at all, just ready to get it done.

Lol happy for you and I will be 24 hours out when you have surgery :)

I hope your surgery and recovery go well. I have my pre-op on the 24th, it was supposed to be today but my surgeon had a family emergency and had to go out of town. Kind of strange that I will meet my surgeon for first time the day before surgery.
