I'm still trying to figure out what you all mean by slipping and erosion. Please explain. I'm new and don't have a clue.

Erosion is when the band erodes into the tissue. Slipping is when the band becomes mispositioned (other complications can be involved too).

This sounds scarey. Is it common? What happens if either of these things happen?

Erosion happens in farrrr less than 1% of banded people. Slips happen about 3% of the time nationally. Much of it depends on your doc and you following bandster rules.

If you have erosion or slippage, can they "fix" it? Or do they have to remove or replace the band?

Erosion... the band needs to be removed. Slips are different. Sometimes an unfill for a few weeks will fix the problem, sometimes it needs to be removed.

How would you know if you had a band erosion... what are the symptoms?

I dont have fluro fills, so I am worried about things like this not showing up..
