Hello All. My name is Tammy and I had a lap-band put in about 8 years ago. From the beginning I had complications with my band. Almost immediately I started coughing at night . If I had any restriction at all I would gag on almost everything and was constantly sick.
After several months I had a slippage from all the excess vomitting. The slippage was repaired and once again I went down the path of night coughing and throwing up. Eventually I had all restriction removed and things seemed to simmer down, other than the irration of the port and it flipping.\
Move forward a few years and now I have ongoing issues with horrible painful diarrhea. If I eat normally at all I have constant inflammatory bowel conditions. I am beginning down the path of trying to get a complete diagnosis but I am wondering if this could be a side-effect of the band. I have lost two good jobs because I can't get out of the bathroom.
Has anybody else had similar complications?
I truly appreciate your time in responding.
