Will I Be Approved with MI

I have bipolar and am considering the lap band procedure for weight loss. Will they automatically tell me no because of my mental illness?

Not necessarily, you need to show them that you are at a stable point in your life to manage the mental side of losing so much weight. Any meds you're on are fine. It's a major mental journey, and they want anyone, even someone without mental illness to be prepared and not set up for failure.

Good Luck!

It likely depends on your insurance. My husband has labels too and is even considered disabled but has qualified for the surgery. I personally suggest seeking out info from your Dr. that writes out your meds. We all need all the back up we can get! Good luck, I hope it all works out.
