  1. How's everyone doing? I'm feelin great! 120# since surgery 6/17 and 170 total... I weigh what I lost!
  2. Mercy West Lakes (Dr. Smolik) in wdsm has support group tonight... 5pm. I really recommend it, it's a good group!!
  3. thanks so much! I feel wonderful!! you're doing great as well. 50 lbs in 8 weeks is fantastic good job
  4. You will feel better. I'm 8 1/2 mths out. You will feel that way for a little while. I was drained and no energy for weeks. It's a huge adjustment for your body. But hang in there it does get better!! 120 lbs lost since surgery and 170 total... you too can do it!
  5. Yes gallbladder went great thank you. I love dr smolik! Just remember you may like premier protein now but after your tastes do change... I still drink protein drinks to be able to attempt to get all my protein in at 6 months out. You'll do great! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
  6. 6 months out the 17th... starting weight of 339, surgery weight of 294, current weight of 188!!! Now have to get the gallbladder taken out Friday by Dr. Smolik. Not feeling the greatest because of that, otherwise I'm feeling good!
  7. Sounds like you're doing great! Yes, I love Dr smolik, that's who I go to. Also the support group meetings they have on the first Tuesday of the month are very beneficial as well if you ever want something extra for support. Great job, you'll do great!
  8. What a great new years resolution for you! Start now on getting rid of crap food... fried, breads, sugar, starches and it will be easier to stay away a couple months after surgery. That's the best advise I can give. Do it now so you know you can commit to the lifestyle change you eed to be successful after surgery. Who is your surgery with?
  9. Yay to both of you! You'll do great, I was sleeved 6/17/14 and have lost 85 since surgery and 135 total and feeling good! Just remember the surgery is the easy part the hard work comes after!

  11. How do you get in that many calories? I can only get in about 600-700 a day. I was sleeved 6/17, and can only eat 2 or 3 times a day.
  12. From what I have read it is normal to have a big stall once you hit onederland! Keep it up, you are doing what you are supposed to. I bet if you keep going the numbers will change. Try giving yourself a jump start, do a couple days with two protein drinks and one lean protein. You'll get there. The less you have to lose the slower it comes off, you're doing good! Keep going, don't give up!
  13. I'm getting in about 600-700 my Dr said between 600-800 in week 5/6 (sleeved 6/17). I would up your water and reduce calories a little... how do you get in 900 calories?
  14. How are all the June 17th sleevers? I'm doing great! Down 30 lbs since surgery and 80 total!! Hope everyone is well!!
  15. Using PB2 in place (mixed up with Water of course) would lower the calories quite a bit.... you could even use chocolate PB2!! Thanks for the recipe!
  16. Everyone looks GREAT!! The left picture was from back on April 13 and the one on the right is a picture of me today. Surgery was June 17, I lost 50 before surgery and now another 30 since. Feeling great! I like others wish I would have done it sooner but know I would not have been quite ready. It feels good to be getting healthy, for myself and my kids.
  17. My surgery went well! I am on week 3 and doing better everyday. Been extremely tired though and not sure about going back to work next week, but I will take it one day at a time. I think it's great that you have such a positive perspective, and another way to see it is that if you go under the 20# then it's not meant to be, but you are given some extremely useful tools! You can do it either way, it will work out the way it is supposed to. Any questions don't hesitate!
  18. All done, 12 hrs since surgery. Walked four times today. Walking is a must! This last walk I had so much air and I couldn't burp it out. Got nauseated and about threw up but managed to get five good ones out and didn't throw up! Doing very well! 8 of us here had surgery, mine wasn't the first but I was the first walking. Thank you all of you sleevers for posting your experience so I knew what to do going in! Hope all is well with the rest of the 17th sleevers!
  19. Hi! I am in Des Moines also! My surgery is the 17th. How far are you on your nutrition and exercise visits?
  20. So I blinked and I'm now only 3 days from my new tummy... so many emotions, so many thoughts. I am ready for this, almost two weeks of pre-op liquid diet done. A new life begins on the 17th, a new beginning. I find myself second guessing my decision, I have common fears of surgery and I am constantly thinking about it. I am excited and ready at the same time too. I know what I am feeling is normal, and I have noticed the excitement and readiness overcoming the fear and worry. This is it, no more work for 3 weeks... let me take this time to enjoy my mini vacation and begin my wonderful journey to a healthy me. I hope everyone is doing well!
  21. Thank you! I am doing it, but I am nervous, excited, happy, sad... just all sorts of mixed up emotions. I am ready. It will be fine :-)
  22. Not necessarily, you need to show them that you are at a stable point in your life to manage the mental side of losing so much weight. Any meds you're on are fine. It's a major mental journey, and they want anyone, even someone without mental illness to be prepared and not set up for failure. Good Luck!
  23. Congrats to those that have been sleeved! I am eager to get mine done... began pre-op diet Tuesday the 3rd, surgery the 17th. Just had my scope and all looks good to be cut out! Getting excited and nervous.... I was bad and read the complications section and of course put me into second guessing my decision. God speed to all of us!!
  24. I am on Welbutrin and noticed a decrease in appetite when I started, it's one of the few that don't have weight gain as a side effect. It may be worth checking out?!
