Does anyone else have a problem with cellulitis? I found a large, hard bump on my inner left thigh today while showering. My hubby & I were scared it was a blood clot so we went to the ER. They ordered the standard blood work and then ordered an ultrasound of it, which hurt like hell. They have to PRESS DOWN to get a good scan & it was all I could do to stay on the gurney and not shriek my lungs out.

Fast forward a couple of hours. ER doc says it is cellulitis. He explained that immunologist-suppressed people like me are susceptible to this, especially after surgery. I was given a prescription for a heavy duty anti-biotic & sent home.

Of course I have had nausea ever since my surgery date, so this ought to be fun! Another horse pill to add to my collection!

Has anyone else had problems with cellulitis? If so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks.

Cellulitis covers a huge area of skin conditions. They use it so freely. Thats what I have when I have a rash, that what I had when I had a piece of glass stuck in my knee, that's what they told me I had when I had an ingrown hair. Did it seem something more like a boil? From the sounds of it, that was my first idea.
