Looking for 60+ year young VSG

Hi I'm 62 years young and scheduled for VSG on June 24. Wondering how it has been for others this age! Problems with recovery, skin, metabolism, etc.

Right now I have very very few wrinkles but worried that once I lose my chubbiness they'll appear! Would love to hear from others :)

hi there,

my first post! I am 61 and have been researching wls for over 8 years, at least. i am so glad i waited,as now there are more options than before, that seem possible and more what i am interested in. i am very interested in vsg and would love to be in touch with you, nina51, in order to keep posted on your journey. I have decided to go to Mexico, but my main issue will be coverage after care, as at this moment i am uninsured and i think this would be very important before i go.

i wish you all the best with your surgery... where will you go for your surgery and is it covered by your insurance? please keep posting here, as I really want to hear your story.

I was 59 when I had my surgery 10 months ago. I am now at goal and have lost over 100lbs. Yes saggy skin, yes wrinkles but no fibromyalgia, no aching knees and little chance of developing the diabetes that both of my parents had. My husband still loves me, saggy skin and all ! I feel great and have more energy and better health. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Go for it and best of luck!

Don't forget to also visit the forums here on Bariatric Pal that are for AGE SPECIFIC groups--they have one for the Sixties! BP thinks of everything. . .
