I have just started my 90 day medically managed diet with Cigna. The most important thing you need to do is schedule 4 appointments with your primary care provider. They must each be at least 30 days

Finding a Cigna Center of Excellence is easy, register on mycigna.com for your plan. Then search for a doctor/hospital, etc, and there are several filters. Search by Procedure, then enter bariatric

That link is the same policy I have printed. My surgeons office didn't have the newest policy until I sent it to them.

I am glad the recent Cigna requirements are a bit easier to meet! I must have started really pursuing bariatric surgery at the right time and so did you. Please keep in touch as we go through the process. It is wonderful to connect with people dealing with the same issues.

I completed my last required nutrition apt on June 3rd. All of my paperwork was submitted to Cigna on June 5th and I was approved on June 13th!! The earliest available date I could get in for surgery is July 21st... I was hoping for an earlier date so I guess I just need to be patient and wait it out.

I'm 3 weeks post op and when I had my Cigna paperwork turned in, they did require 2 years medical records, but in actuality, they just needed a print out of one office visit for year 2012 and 2013 - so I had asked the nurse to find the one from each year with my highest weight on them. I was approved within a week of submitting paperwork :)
