2nd Hiatal Hernia?

I was sleeved on October 21, 2013. I also had a hiatal hernia repair. I was hopeful that that, combined with the sleeve, would reduce my heartburn. It has increased twofold. I now take a higher dose medication. I just went through my 2nd endoscopy, upper gi series and a cat scan only to learn I still have the hernia! My bariatric surgeon suggests a second surgery. My primary says the exact opposite and has referred me to a thoracic surgeon. Has anyone else dealt with this?? Thanks in advance.

I have not been sleeved yet. I go tomorrow for my surgeon to review all of my preop tests and tell me yes or no. The problem is, I have to have my gallbladder removed, hernia repair and gastric sleeve. The hernia is just under my right breast, sticks out when I cough, etc. He is afraid he will have to repair with mesh. I wondered if you had hernia repair at the time of your weight loss surgery? How did you do? I am 65 years old and diabetic also. Lots to worry about. Thanks
