Have a friend having surgery tomorrow. They had three alcoholic drinks yesterday. Will this cause any major complications

Me either but will it cause him complications

From what my Dr told me the purpose for being on liquids before surgery was to help shrink the liver which needs to be manipulated in order to do the laparoscopic surgery. If they "fold the liver " and it cracks and bleeds they need to open up the abdomen. Since drinking involves the liver the worst case scenario would be the would need to open your friend up to do the surgery. That could open them up to a longer recovery and possibility of future complications. Hope they do ok!
