• Popular Post

I know there is a june post op page but it's from 2013 and very hard to go through all of those messages looking for support from people just going through the surgery although we love the veterans and all their wisdom sometimes you just want to talk to your graduating class about how things are going!!! congrats class of 2014 ha ha let's stay in touch here and post questions and answers and support each other im also considering making a facebook page so let me know if that would be something you would enjoy for the group. this page is for sleevers and bypassers and banders of june 2014

Can other people on you fb page see that you've joined?

That Facebook group -- JUNIES 2014 -- was up for one day and then mysteriously disappeared. I'm really disappointed, because I want support everywhere I can get it. But I guess this forum is kind of the same thing, right? Just that Facebook is so much easier. Anyway, I've written a bunch of emails to god-knows-how-many-people about getting the F'book page back up, and now it's July 5th...so I think we'll just have to congregate here. I had my band + plication done on Monday and the recovery has been okay and mainly boring. There is a psychological component to this that nobody addresses. Or maybe it's just me. I'm gong to drag my fat ass to an O.A. meeting this afternoon; my doctor (surgeon) says they are the best support groups and perhaps it's time I get some real (as opposed to virtual) support. You?

Hi

I have started a new page for June people as many of us were kicked out. The link is on this page - thanks, Krystal

I was wondering that as well. Also, can anyone see when you post/like something?

no it's set to secret.

check out this link for facebooks explanation

If you have any trouble getting to the link message me here and i will get your info and add you.

the link has been working for some but not for others. Facebook told me that when it's secret you need to be invited but sometimes the link works.

Hi, Sent request for new Facebook page. To be honest I cannot understand why people would invite you into a group and he for o apparent reason and without explanation drop you. If there IS a reason fine but at least have the courtesy to tell the affected people why they were dropped.

June'ers, here's a treat. I decided to compose a RNY SERIES of music to symbolize my thoughts through my journey. The first one is "Anticipation", night before RNY. (you can actually hear the colon prep kicking in!) The second one is "Acclimation", ten days post-op (today). Hope you can 'feel it'.

How is everyone doing today?

Those damn moods.... Had my hair washed this morning by a visiting nurse. I live alone, and the doctor made the referral... nevertheless, it took a hit on my self-esteem.

How is everyone doing today?

Not too bad today. The work routine seems to help my energy. Was sleeved on 6/24 and this past weekend it seems I went backwards. Was getting in at least 3 of my New Direction protein drinks a day plus all the required water. But this last weekend I was SO FULL every time I tried to drink the shakes that I could barely get in two. Not enough calories or protein.

I had the same issue over the weekend. I didn't get enough protein or water in. It's hard to stay on schedule on the weekends.

I'm doing ok. I'm just really tired today for some reason...

I haven't been here for a while -- bypass on June 9th and doing great now 4 weeks out. Just saw my surgeon this morning and he cleared me for exercise -- said "do whatever you want"! YAY! I've been walking on the treadmill but I find cardio work to be SO boring!

No complications (other than being readmitted to the hospital for pneumonia 2 days after I came home). No nausea, vomiting, pain... feeling great! Was very tired the first 2 weeks but that was in part because of the pneumonia.

Started regular foods yesterday -- everything tastes great and sits well except for half of a protein bar I tried to eat one day. Felt like a brick in my stomach.

I'm so glad I did this -- down 24 pounds. I went to Target to buy cat litter the other day. The bag I buy weighs 18 pounds and as I was carrying it out to the car I thought -- gee -- a month ago I was carrying around more weight than this every day all day long. Amazing to think about!

 • 2 months later...

how is everybody doin? any dramatic weightloss??

Sleeved on 6/24 here... was doing really well with my cravings and controlling intake (since I didn't really care about eating). But in the last week something has changed. I'm feeling more hunger (whether it's real or not) and starting to get these out-of-control feelings again. Wanting to graze already and eat around my set structure that has been going so well.

Have lost approx 35 lbs since surgery - so things have been going along well. It just seems strange to me that I'm already starting to lose the honeymoon feeling. Maybe I'm just psyching myself out!! Just scared to return to my old self who didn't succeed very well on her own!
