. How long did take for ur insurance to approve ?? Just curios

It was pretty much pre-approved, as long as I lost 15 pounds. I started this process at the end of March through Kaiser Permanente. To get in the program you need to take the info class and have your PCP refer you. Once you're "in" the program, you have orientation, then meet your surgeon and get your pre-op goal. After that it's a nutrition class and support groups. When you're within 5 pounds of your goal, you get your psych eval and start doing all your labs. At goal weight you get your surgery date and your pre and post op appointments made for the rest of the year. It's nice because you can do it at your own pace. It could be as quick or as slow as you need.

Hi. I am having my surgery with Dr. Grinberg on May 29th. I'm so excited and really getting nervous. Only two and a half weeks away.

I was approved within 48 hours of submittal! From start to finish my entire process took about 6 weeks.

I love Dr. Grinberg! I'm excited for you! Have you attended any of the mindful eating classes? I'm going to my first one next week.

Congrats! Your big day is getting very close :)

Thanks . I did the one support, one nutrition class and 2 psych appts. They are working on getting support classes at Kaiser Roseville. Is the mindful eating the 12 week class?

Yes, it's the 12 week class, but they made it so you can come in at any time.

Mine will be in June as well but not sure of when yet in June but I'm EXCITED :)

I have UHC and it took about a week to get an approval.

I had not heard back from my dr. I phoned Anthem today. They said the dr. Just submitted my request today. However, the surgery is not yet approved. The proposed surgery date is June 16th, maybe we will be sleeved on the same day,

When did you start the process for WLS?
