At 3 weeks post-op I was on soft foods. My doc would allow anything soft and mushy. If the chicken is soft and shredded finely enough, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But I know that if the soup had any vegetable pieces in it, my new stomach would not have been ready for it.

Being so soon after surgery, you might try my method for introducing new foods - eat 1/2 teaspoon full, wait 5 minutes, eat 1/2 teaspoon full, wait 5 minutes. From experience, if my stomach didn't rebel after the 2nd 5 minutes was up, it was safe to eat.
