I am 7 weeks out and I saw my endocrinologist yesterday. He informed me that I am no longer a diabetic. No more injections & no more pills. I love my sleeve.

Wow, that's great. How long were you a diabetic? I'm hoping when I see mine, he tells me the same. Middle of next month, but I don't know that he will do anything right away, might keep me monitored. My sugar levels have been really good, except yesterday, they were between 179-189, This morning 112, which is great. well congratulations on your good news.

I am told that once diabetic always diabetic. I came off Metformin at sleeve surgery (after 1 year of being diagnosed), but my husband is still insulin dependent twice a day. He has been on insulin 30 years. One nurse who works for our surgeon said she has not and will not ever come off insulin since her surgery several years ago. Diabetic problems is one reason my husband and I decided to have the sleeve, because the older you are the worse it gets. I hope WLS helps a lot of people never reach the point of needing insulin for diabetes. It wreaks havoc on your bodies. Our A1C is excellent since the sleeve, and that is a Godsend!

I am 3 wks out from surgery and I have gotten off metforman as of surgery but I still take ongliza but in the last few days my blood sugars have been down and I have had to eat to get them up. I am hoping that I can get off all medication within the next few weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
