M worried about how the sleeve surgery will affect my medications. I'm on the perfect cocktail and haven't been depressed in 3 years. Has the surgery affected anyone with their meds?

I'm guessing ur talking about antidepressants? I take Celexa and nothing has changed. I've been under control for about 4 yrs now, not requiring any changes. I've attempted to go off of them but then feel "blah"

Anyway, no changes for me. My meds work just like they used to. Don't forget that nothing but ur stomach size is changed. Nothing to make ur meds either more or less potent.

Good luck to u!

I'm not on any antidepressants, but I take many meds, and you just continue as normal, but you should ask your surgeon before your surgery if you're that worried, or ask your psych doc, or even the pharmacist. good luck!

I've also been on a good combo for depression and anxiety. It took years to get the dosages and prescription right! I chose the sleeve because it was not supposed to effect medications (no malabsorption like gastric bypass).

My surgery was July 2013 and my meds are still working great. Actually losing weight has greatly helped my anxiety!

Have been on a combo for anxiety and they continue to work well. Also on a beta blocker for heart racing. Tried to cut down on that and that didn't work!! Feeling great just where I am!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
