Acid Reflux

Hi All,

I am currently one week out from surgery. I am experiencing really bad heartburn and wanted to know if anyone is having the same issue. If so, what are some things that can be done to ease my misery!!?? Also, does it get better with time and weight loss?

My dr says that have of sleeve patients get acid reflux. I take 1 Prilosec daily and it takes care of any heartburn

I was "lucky" enough to get the really bad heartburn while I was still in the hospital. My doc prescribed me an antacid that I take two times daily. He said most people will have the reflux go away in about four to six weeks. He said a few unfortunates have it the rest of their life, but simply tell him and he can fix it for me if it continues.

I will say today has been the best day since the surgery. I was prescribed Nexium and what a difference a day makes!! I was able to enjoy tomato Soup for lunch! :)
