Exercise causing weight gain

I recently started running again, I keep my calories at around 1200 and it seems like my scale is moving in the wrong direction! My clothes a fitting better though... But then there is that constant pressure to lose weight by my next Dr. Appt which has me stressed out! Have any of my fellow bandsters gone through this?

  • I doubt you are adding a lot of muscle mass at this point. Running doesn't really bulk you up ... at all. What it does do, though, is help store glycogen more efficiently in your muscles. Glycogen

part of my job was community education and that is one of those falsehoods...muscle is just less dense and takes up less room...I am looking forward to seeing my fat turn into less space...LOLRH!!!

Thanks for that! I may just make that my Facebook profile pic! lol

Thanks @☠carolinagirl☠ for posting that. I read this thread last night and was going to post that exact photo this morning, but you beat me to it!!

You know what drives me crazy? When people get upset at people who post the whole a pound of fat is the same as a pound of muscle, thing. We all know deep down what the point the person is trying to make, that the volume of a pound of fat is greater than the volume of a pound of muscle, yet there are those who choose to jump up on a box and scream A POUND OF SOMETHING EQUALS A POUND OF ANYTHING ELSE!! These are the same people who don't get the joke asking who is buried in Grant's Tomb.

We all know there is a simple miscommunication, so let's be adults and understand the intent, not the slipup of meaning.

But alas ... this will once again be posted as such a couple months from now.
