Hi everyone, I'm going to ask my Dr. can he fill my band as soon he put the on. I want to wake up with restriction, if I have to be on protein shakes for 1 month I am willing to do it. Have you are anyone you know had a fill in surgery? Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

That probably won't happen. Your stomach is going through a lot of trauma and you(and doctor) don't want anything getting stuck causing the sutures to rip away from your stomach taking the band with them.

And, no one, not even your surgeon knows how much swelling your pouch/stomach will produce over the following week. So, I'm not your doctor, but what you ask for is highly unlikely.

The best you can expect is to get your first fill under flouro.

I'm still not sure which WLS I want, leaning toward the band. I have until next month to make a decision. Thanks again for your reply, your right!!

I just got the band a little over 2 weeks ago. My doctor did give me a small fill at the time of surgery. I have 3 cc in my band. I so far love the band. Good luck on making a choice.

Mine was primed with 3ml during surgery but that doesn't necessarily mean you will feel restriction. Im due for my first fill in a couple of weeks.
