Post op pains?

I'm 3 months post op...I still sometimes have weird pains on the side of my abdomen...the pain would be described as if doing too many crunches kinda sore stretching type pain, or even sharp shooting.. My surgeon said it's normal and should go away, especially the incision area near the ribs is one of the most complained about. Sometimes the pain is pretty intense. Anyone experience anything like this?

I had a pulling sensation whenever I lay on my right side, it went on for months. I'm not sure when, but the feeling eventually faded.
