pay 20% or wait 6 months?!?!?!

had my initial consult today with my surgeon and felt amazing!!! He said we can have this process done in 6-8 weeks :) eeeeekkkk thats with me paying 20% if I choose to let my secondary insurance pay the 20% it's going to take an additional 6 months Im a bit torn if waiting is the right decision or staying on the fast track... has anyone else had to make this decision???

Hi no I didn't have to make this choice my insurance required a 6 month weight management and it has now been 8 months and i was just approved 100 percent today and I am awaiting a surgery date. I have learned valuable information during this time, I have learned my triggers as well as how to eat properly as well as loose weight . Unless you can afford to pay the 20 percent out of pocket I would do the 6 months waiting period because you can learn alot about eating healthy. I would encourage you to start a journal because it has help me see that I was over eating to deal with stress and emotional issues. Good luck and congrats on being healthy.

My insurance doesn't require the 6 month diet, but the surgeon was glad about that he likes to keep people on the fast track. I have to lose 16 pounds before surgery. I started my new diet which consists of two protein shakes and one meal a day. Also known as liver shrink diet. I started it Monday and have already lost 7 pounds.

Thats great, at that rate you will lost the 16 pounds fast. good luck.
