Feeding your kids while going thru surgery

Hi! I just got my surgery date today April 15th! I am a single mom of 2 kids who are 9 and 7. Any advice on keeping them fed while going thru 2 week liquid diet and then post surgery restrictions? I dont want to torture myself or deprive my kids. Anyone else experience this?

My surgery isn't until April 16th and I'm not required to do any pre-op diet! Just the usual no food or drink after midnight the night before. I asked the dietitian about it and she said it wasn't standard practice and if it was, as a center of excellence, they would be mandated to follow suit to keep their standing. I have elected on my own to eat a high protein/low carb diet and I'm amazed how much my gut is already shrinking pre-surgery!

Seems pretty "standard" but maybe just not required. Its up to the surgeons as far as I can tell. Maybe they think having a strict diet will help lower their complications rate which if it were too high might cause them to lose their excellence standing? But hey, sounds good for you! Good luck! I have mine April 15th!

Go to Premier's website and enter in your zip code. In I'm Michigan, they have them at walmart, sams club, and Meyers.

No Premiere protein for sale here in Oklahoma! Only the bars. I do like the Pure Protein ready made drinks.
