New Direction shakes

Is anyone using the New Direction shakes? I can't get these to blend properly no matter what I do to them. I am drinking chunky hot chocolate. Day 3 and I am more frustrated by this than not eating! This was an expensive liquid diet promoted by my hospital and yet the shakes are awful.

Hi Gin,

I haven't heard of New Direction but can tell you from my own experience that Protein will almost always curdle when very warm liquid touches it. I found a lot of good tips for making hot drinks/meals with protein on the Bariatric Foodie website, plus she (the author's name is Nik) has a book on Amazon. Hope this info helps :)

I drank the new direction hot cocoa and didn't have an issue. I got the water hot as I could from the tap and then added the cocoa mix. I used a mini whisk to stir it up really well. I also had their broccoli cheddar protein soup that u add boiling water to and had no issues.
