Shaking Things Up

I am sure anyone who has been banded for more that a couple of weeks has run into the issue of getting bored with the some old vanilla, chocolate or strawberry shake. So what did you do when you got to this point..What is your favorite Protein shake recipe? So far my favorite is a chocolate and Peanut Butter that tastes like a reese's peanut butter cup.

I bought frozen sliced strawberries and frozen pineapple chunks from Sam's. I also buy bananas and let them get really ripe ( I then peel them and store them in the freezer). I use the vanilla protein shake and mix snd match the frozen fruit, using my new Ninja blender..... It tastes like tropical heaven!!!!

If you want to "save" calories - use extracts..Chocolate Protein powder with coconut extract (Almond Joy). Vanilla powder with orange zest (creamcycle). I also use vanilla extract in my vanilla powder to get a stronger vanilla taste. Sometimes I use ice, sometimes, Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk or Unsweetened Coconut Milk with my powder. Not bad, different texture. My doc does not allow fruit so I have to get my "taste" from different places. Give it a try... Melinda in Florida

I love Jay Robb's Egg White Protein - chocolate. I whip it up with some almond or non fat milk, and it's great. Sometimes I throw in a few frozen raspberries, and it's wonderful. Other than that, the Premier Protein ready made chocolate shakes are a favorite.

If you're getting sick of the sweet shakes, you can try putting some unflavored Protein Powder into things like V-8 juice. Really good, and a break from all the sweetness.

Thanks..... I never even thought of that. Great idea. I really don't have a fruit restriction, but I'm always looking for ways to SAVE THOSE CALORIES!!!!!
