Day 1 Pre-op opti-Fast

Well, day 1 of loosing it for life. Here's my quick initial impression of Opti-Fast items: berry and choc Peanut Butter bars not bad. chicken Soup t mix ok. Choc shakes.. OMG they suck to the max. To think I only have 40+ more to go....

Any suggestions?

I did Optifast a few years ago and found that adding those syrups helped, but even better was a tiny bit of real flavoring, since they tasted so fake to me. A ½ tsp cocoa powder, a ½ tsp real vanilla (or other) extract, or a bit of cooked real fruit pulverized in the blender. And yes - cold cold cold helps too. Even a half packet of stevia might improve it a bit.

My pro op is four shakes plus a lean cuisine and ½ cup vegetables per day. I honestly would prefer not to eat any solids than try to limit them. Oh well, good training when I have to do it. I'm still awaiting a date, but am going to start working on losing now.

Good luck with the optifast!

You can use Torani SF syrups with anything, no calories or sugar. Add to coffee, yogurt, shakes, etc.<br>In the coffee section of the grocery, or more flavors at World Market or Amazon.com

Thanks, this really helped!
