Clear liquid diet (3 days pre-op)

I today I've started my pre op clear liquid phase! I get it...broths, clear soda, jello...tea...

What are some things/brands etc, you found to be helpful to get through this. I'm a pretty grumpy person when I'm hungry...I want to do my best not to get that way lol...advice appreciated and welcome!

There are some flavored broths on the market that are pretty good. Also, add some fresh herbs like rosemary or basil to your broth and steep it like you would tea then strain off the solids. I LOVE Taos green tea with speremint as well - one of my favorites. If you get hungry, drink water or drink some more broth - it can be more filling than you think :)

This stage is hard..I did it for a week! I lived on sugar free popsicles, sf jello, and grape propel. You can do this, it will be worth it!

Tough stage, no lie. Organic broths tasted better to me than others. You'll appreciate full liquids so much more after surgery. Good luck! You can do it. You're almost there!

What does full liquids mean??

Also what al Vitamins do you all take? Best place to buy? Protein shake mix suggestions.

My team defined full liquids as soups (I'm allowed to put chunky soups through a blender), Jello, protein shakes, yogurt, sugar free pudding, milk, sugar free popsicles, as well as the clear liquids I had pre-op. Pretty boring, but I got used to it after the second week. My doc said to take two Flintstones vitamins daily. Protein I like is Unjury Chocolate that I buy online, or Atkins Dark Chocolate.

You have to read my thread " when does it get better"
