Hello! Newbie from Arkansas

Hello! My name is Jennifer. I am kinda new to the weight loss surgery thing. I started a program in july of last year but i had to quit because my insurance said being overweight is a pre-existing condition. So I got a pretty nice bill for labs and all that good stuff. My husband's work changed insurance and luckily their requirements for WLS are a way easier than the previous insurance. I don't have to do a six month diet or a psych eval. I already had paperwork from my current psychiatrist stating that I am good to go. I even had three year worth of weights, that are no longer required. They accepted the letter from the psychiatrist as my mental evaluation, which made me pretty happy. All I need to do is the EGD and I should be good to go. I am wondering how fast this process is going to go since I am not required to do a six month diet. Its a little overwhelming to me. Sorry if I rambled, I am just excited.

This is pretty much the same thing as me. My first appointment was on the 8th. My pre op is on the 23rd and my surgery is on Valentines Day. I'm excited too and nervous at the same time.

I am doing the RNY. They told me I'm not a candidate for the sleeve because I have real bad heartburn all the time. Which hospital did u have your surgery at? My insurance will only pay for physicians specialty hospital. Who did your surgery?
