Are you looking to have surgery? I had my VSG at Mount Sinai Hospital

in Manhatten with Dr. Daniel Herron who is wonderful...

New York bariatric group located in new hyde park!!! Dr. Angstadt. They are the number one leading group in the area!! Zero percent death rate!!! I had my surgery on dec 10 with them and everything went great!!!

wow….really? i met with dr angstadt a while ago but i didn't think too much of him afterwards. so i was looking for other options. how do you know what a dr.s death rate is? how can i find out how many sleeves they have done, besides asking them. i mean, can't they tell you whatever they want to?

There is a website called : Healthgrades and you could reveiw any physician in the USA......and look at their track record.....I checked out the surgeon that I used...he is at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhatten.....should you find a surgeon that you like....you could also ask him for former patients as a reference...... and depending where you choose your surgeon...you couls also follow up with the state dept of licensing.....for reviews..... all the best..

Girliegirl you can go on the website and see and also the healthgrades like the other lady suggested!!! Idk he isn't really talkative but everything went great an it was a fairly easy process

Have you gone to other surgeons who do the VSG ? Perhaps, go for a second opinion ? There are many fine Bariatric surgeons.... I did my research and interviewed three surgeons in Manhatten...who practice at three distinctly different teaching hospitals..... 1:) Columbia Presbytarian Hospital

2:)NYU -Longone Medical Center and 3:) Mount Sinai Hospital and MEdical Center . I chose Mount Sinai Hospital since the surgeon had a program-it took me approx. 9 months to see different physicians in different disciplines... and also meet with the primary care doctor once per month.....I hope that this helps in some small way.....wishing you every success in your journey.....and good health....

Try Dr. McMullen, I have an appointment with her on the 22nd of this month I called many different offices and hers was the best and just with the one phone call to her office I learned so much info about gastric sleeve even things I didn't yet research and I got all my paperwork mailed to me in less then a week and all my insurance questions answered in less then 8 minutes. She is located in syosset and affiliated with north shore, lij, syosset hospital and a few others I did research on her and is one of the best. Good luck

I have started the process with Dr. Buchrin in Huntington. He does his surgery out of Huntington hospital. I havent gotten very far in the process, but I did like.

i met with dr buchin once too, i liked him a lot, one of my favorites!

have you decided who you are going to be using?

  • Author

well s much as I liked dr buchin, Im going to use Dr Brathwaite because he seems to be more experienced and has been doing it longer.

Where is Dr. Brathwaite? What hospital?

  • Author

hi, im so happy to hear of someone else using him too. I didn't spend that much time with him but I did hear great things. Like i said I really liked Dr Buchin too. what made you decide to use him if you dont mind me asking? have you seen any other doctors?

can you please tell us how your experience with Dr Brathwaite goes? id love to hear!! good luck.

Jennlee DrBrathwaite is in Winthrop Hosp. Im using his team and am scheduled for 4/23. The office staff is amazing in Patchogue .

I originally did the band with New York Bariatric group but I wasn't happy with the band or the staff. I been with Dr Castro out of New York Hospital Queens in Flushing. I Love him and the staff!! He removed my band and did my sleeve. Anyone who does bariatric surgery in the hospital does it with him. He is very skilled and has excellent bedside manner. His clinical coordinator Amy is also excellent she works with you and the insurance company aggressively to get you not only to surgery day but to successfully be on the losing side.
