Incision issues

I was banded on the 9th and everything seems to be going ok except my larger incision seems to be getting worse instead of better. TMI warning .... The incision never seems to stay scabbed over for more than a day, has light draining and is slightly painful. I called my doctors office and they seemed unconcerned and said this is not uncommon for the center incision but I am getting frustrated. Has anyone else has this issue?

That is 2+ weeks. You should be pretty much healed by now

i want you to answer some questions to yourself. are you running a fever? is there swelling? is the discharge clear or pus? is it getting more red and inflammed? is there more pain at the site? is anything rubbing on it? like clothes. have you tried neosporin or triple antiboitic ointment or, i did solarcaine spray. works well for me. clean it with a little peroxide . now if you answered yes to my questions especially the fever one your doctor should respond. sometimes it's very hard to get passed the receptionists. it is their job to triage the calls to the doctor. but they are not medical ppl. also dry your incision well after a shower. and no baths or hot tubs. not until your incision heals. if you are concerned your doctor office should fit you in for a appointment. you may need a oral antibiotic but only your doctor can decide this. good luck and i hope everything is okay

No fever or clear signs of infection. Just not healing. I have an appointment on the 2 nd for a follow up. I was just curious if this was normal.

thats good that you do have a appointment. and it's good you are doing what your doctor ordered. what we say is just a recommendation always do what your doctor says. happy new year and heres to a healthy leaner year
