Being Banded on Friday

I'm being banded on Friday, 12/27 and I start my clear liquid diet at midnight tonight. I have got my jello, broth and popsicles ready. Has anyone been told during their clear liquid diet that they can't have flavored jello? I bought raspberry, strawberry banana and peach. Hoping I can eat it. Happy Holidays!

I'm waiting on insurance approval but have tentative surgery date of 1/20/14. I'm a registered nurse and a planner so I've researched the diet requirements a lot. Although I've found that each surgeon recommends similar diets, they all vary a bit. But I'm comfortable to say that my surgeon says yes to flavored jello as long as it is sugar free. Hope this helps! So excited for your journey and hoping for approval from my insurance soon!

Thanks! I did buy the sugar free so I'm going to eat it. Good luck with your insurance approval.

I know for me flavored jellos were fine, as long as they were sugar free. Don't hesitate to call your surgeon's office, if you have any questions about your diet, though!

Good luck to you!

Hi KSteele!

I'm being banded tomorrow also! Friday 12/27

I had to start my liquid diet 2 weeks ago though. Lucky you. The good news is I've lost 15 pounds. I'm really nervous about tomorrow, are you?

Well, I'm off to bed. See you on the other side!

Thank you for asking Slinkielovin. Friday was pretty rough. The nurse told my husband that the anesthesiologist got a little heavy handed. She had several of us coming out of surgery feeling nauseous and having trouble getting awake. I felt rough Friday but a little better yesterday and better yet today. I am surprisingly hungry! Muscles are sore and my insides feel like they've been rearranged but that is getting better. My stomach is growling and rumbling and I get the occasional hiccup which is unpleasant, but over all, I'm on the mend!

I'm so glad your feeling ok and all went well ! Please let me know how it goes for you on your journey I'm really interested to find out what I have to look forward to! Good luck over the next few days and tell those hiccups to leave you alone! Lol
