Post op finally!

My journey began officially 10/24/13 when I called to make the surgeon appt. I saw the psychologist in 10/28, my family dr 10/31 and the surgeon 10/31. I had nut appt the following Thursday. Got my approval mid Nov and they worked me in on Dec 18.

I lost 16lbs on the pre op diet (and gained 2 back from "food funerals"). Surgery went well except my oxygen levels wouldn't stay up, even when awake, so I came home on 02. Had some issues with nausea but always do after surgery, so nothing new.

So here I am five days out and down a total of twenty lbs since pre op. Yes my head wants food but my new tummy tells me otherwise. I can't handle ice water (but love ice chips?) And swallowing pills is hard, find myself gagging. I use my fitness pal app to keep track of protein and so far I've either met or come close to protein goal minimum of 60.

This has been a hard journey but I'm finally doing something for me! I really appreciate these forums, it helps to know that things get better!

I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and within the past week and half I can tolerate water where before I couldn't (I even got dehydrated). I never had a problem with being able to eat ice just couldn't do the water. Hang in there and keep trying. I got tired of hearing it gets better but I promise it will :)
