2 Weeks!

Hi all, my name is Rocko. I live in Sarasota, FL. I'm 6'0, 340lbs. All my paperwork was submitted on 3/5/07 to my Insurance Company. My Surgeons Coordinator said to give it anywhere from 4-5 weeks to hear back from them. Well first thing yesterday Morning I got the call, " We've heard from the Ins. Co. your all set to go, your Surgery will be 3/27/07 (2 weeks)" Wow! It's not that I'm not Pumped! I am!!! But I was mentally preparing myself for the past month, you know, for the 2 weeks Pre-Band, all liquid, no solid food. But it's been just about 24 hours with nothing solid, and I'm still here :P First time in my 41yrs I've gone a day w/o solid food. I never thought I'd be able to do it. But now does it get easier as each day passes by, or am I gonna hit a wall and want Real Food?! Well I took precautions, I emptied out the fridge, and the pantry today. My Mom, and Son were Happy to get all the goodies! :)

Is anyone else Pre-Band now? I mean on the liquids? My Doctor put me on Optifast Shakes, 800 Calories a day. Now while on this does anyone know if it's OK to have Sugar Free Popsicles? I will not sway from this unless I know for a fact it's OK. I just want this all to bad. :D

Well that's where I'm at. BTW, this website is the best, so much information. So thank you all~~:biggrin1:

Hi Rocko and congratulations on your upcoming banding and so fast! How exciting! I was banded on 1/30/07 and am doing well. I was on a pre-op diet also. It is OK to have sugar free popsicles. They are only 10-20 calories, so I am sure that they are OK to have. Best of luck to you and welcome to LBT! Gigi

Two weeks of liquid diet?? That seems like alot. I know every doc's different, but that's got to be a real challenge. You're doing great so far! And I know you're going to lose so much weight even before the surgery, that you're going to have a speedy, healthy recovery. Good Luck!!!!

Hi guys,

I'm new to the site too & got my notice today that my surgery is in 2 weeks too, so I get to join you down here in New Zealand, on the "delicious" liquid diet. What fun!

Cheers,

Cate (also 41 :))
