A gross scatalogical question

OK, I was hoping I wouldn't have to ask this, but I haven't seen it addressed elsewhere, and I'm desperate: Has anyone else had diarrhea while on liquids? For the first several post-op days I had the bowels of a cheese-eating 90-year-old, but in the last two days I've had to dash to the bathroom a couple of times with the runs. I'm drinking lots of fruit juices and yogurt smoothies, but I didn't expect this week to be so, um, productive. My diet hasn't changed in the last few days, and I don't have any flu symptoms. Comments or suggestions?

Stocked up on toilet paper, I remain,

I had that for a short time during the liquid stage. Usually, not much warning! What types of Fruit drinks are you drinking? Some fruits can act as laxatives. You can check online for a list of fruits, fruit juices, and their side effects, daily amt. to drink. Fruit Drinks are very high in sugar and are basically empty calories.

If you're having problems w/diarrhea, you may want to lay off of the yogurt for a few days. Milk products tend to make diarrhea worse.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!:D

I have the same issues, but I was told because I am not eating anything solid it is normal. My day consists of 16 oz of protien shake, 11 ounces of milk, 2 oz of broth and 4 oz of juice. My stage 2 diet starts Tuesday, Im sure you know how excited I am!

Thank you, thank you! I'll try to cut back on the yogurt. Today has been fine so far, but yesterday I just about lost it while sitting for a professional exam. . . at least they would have remembered me.

Kim, I'm right behind you: mushy food begins on Thursday. Right now I'm looking forward to hummus, guacamole, and tuna salad.

Hi Zoe,

Just wanted to chime in with my congratulations on your banding! And to say that I, too, had this happen for a short while during the liquid phase. Not at all surprising, when you think about it. What goes in, comes out. :D

Zoe ~ I am so looking forward too refried Beans, sour cream and melted cheese. I am hoping it isnt too spicy for me, but I have heard that some people can tolerate it!

Veering even further off on this tangent... I discovered a good, cheap way to satisfy a Mexican food craving during the liquid phase. Campbell's makes a condensed Creamy chicken Chile Soup with poblano peppers; it's very filling, and not too spicy. The chicken bits are tiny, so you can either chew them into mush or ignore them.

My earlier problem seems to have resolved itself. Thanks, everyone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
