Muscle Mass

Hi peoples, it's my first post. I'm getting my operation done on the 27th of Nov. I'm not really that worried about it, and the preop hasn't been that bad for me so far (I am just doing an extreme low fat diet, so it's kind of like chicken fish and vegetables with no oil).

I'm wondering if there are any guys out there who have been able to retain and build muscle after a gastric sleeve op? I have a pretty good amount of muscle built under all this fat, and I'm worried about losing this, especially considering I'm expecting skin issues (I have like 120 pounds to lose). It will be nice to be lighter, but I'm not interested in looking all sickly and saggy if I can avoid that.

Does anyone have any advice or feedback?

I have lost over 160 pounds since having surgery in December of 2012, I do have skin issues, but by making sure I get enough protein in and by doing strength training in the gym as much as possible I have not only not lost any muscle mass but feel that I have built muscle. I am a paramedic by profession and as such need to be able to lift and move people with ease so this was very important to me, but by remaining focused it has worked out well for me. Good Luck.
