How To Avoid Ulcers?

I read so often about people getting ulcers after surgery. Is there anything, apart from avoiding anti inflammatory drugs, that we can do to keep ulcers away?

I take 20mg of Omeprazole every day anyway so I'm hoping that has a positive effect where avoiding ulcers is concerned.

I have taken 20 mg omeprazole twice daily, use to take 40mg Nexium, for years. Probably will continue. Never had a problem with acid reflux after the band, but as a precaution continued taking it because of all the medications I had to take. I felt with all the meds my stomach was a toxic waste dump, and my imagination kept seeing the dump bubbling. Now that I have had bypass, will definitely stay on it, think it is a good precaution to being pro active.

I take 2-20mg Omeprazole/Prilosec per day for ulcer and GERD prevention.

My dr has me on Pepcid 2x a day. So far so good.
