March 11, 200719 yr I was banded on Thursday 3/8. I am only able to drink 2 oz of liquid and it takes me about 45 minutes to do it. Should I be concerned? I am drinking broth and my protein shakes. I am also having a lot of gas. :help:
March 11, 200719 yr Denise, I think you should be okey. It's only been 1 day since your surgery and you will be swollen and have lots of gas for the next two weeks at the least. I was only able to drink small amounts in the beginning, but after a week or so, I was able to drink and eat more. Best of luck.
March 11, 200719 yr I was also banded on the 8th. I can barely drink 32oz of water, about half of what I should be. All I eat is broth, jello doesn't go down at all. I am also full of gas and bloating, cannot wait until this goes away.
March 11, 200719 yr 32 oz is good for only 2 days out! 64 oz is a goal, not a reality at this point. Just keep sipping (room temp or warm goes down easiest). Things will be better tomorrow. You can use GasX to help relieve the pressure (I think there is a little one you melt on your tongue)
March 12, 200719 yr I was banded on 3/8 also. I have been lucky and haven't had any gas pains. I haven't had much trouble drinking and wonder if this is normal. How do you know when you have had too much? What does the discomfort feel like?
